Support Dorgan/Collins Type 1 research bill
March 4, 2010Thank you Senators Collins and Dorgan for introducing the Special Diabetes Program (SDP) (S. 3058) bill which would provide $200 million each year for the next 5 years for research, development of therapies, and treatment methods to help type 1 diabetics treat the disease in the long term.
Sen. Dorgan, founder of the Senate Diabetes Caucus, and Sen. Collins made us proud today. Urge your Senator to support the Special Diabetes Program. The bill would also provide $200 million a year for treatment initiatives targeted to American Indian and Alaska Native populations, groups that are particularly hard hit by diabetes.
