“Rubber balls sent flying to raise money for research” by Patrick Dunne, Bethesda Gazette, March 28, 2007:

Jon Lowe sat anxiously on the bleachers and cheered his teammates on the court. He knew at any second he could be hit by a rubber ball.

‘‘This is wild,” he said as his teammates on Insulin Dependant 2 played a fierce game of dodgeball on Sunday. ‘‘Absolutely amazing.”

Nearly 300 people on 26 teams took to the courts at the second annual Dodging Diabetes, a daylong dodgeball tournament to raise money for diabetes research held on Sunday at Bethesda’s Landon School….
