Congress Daily Hot Ticket, March 21, 2007“DODGING FOR DIABETES
Whether you were the best athlete in elementary school or dreaded gym class every day, everyone has strong memories when it comes to dodgeball. Now, relive those glory moments, or replace bad ones, at the Dodging Diabetes Charity Dodgeball Tournament™. All proceeds benefit the Joslin Diabetes Center, so each time you get hit in the face, or hit someone in the face, remember: It’s all for a good cause. You’ll have to round up five of your friends, or enemies if you want to see them get pummeled by rubber balls, to make up a team of six. So far, more than 20 teams have signed up, so be ready for a full day of testing the limits of your flexibility and reflexes. The cost is $200 per team of six players. The first round of games begins at 9 a.m., Sunday, at the Landon School at 6101 Wilson Lane in Bethesda. Contact Anna Tiedeman Irwin at (202) 441-5832 to enlist, or send her at e-mail at dodgingdiabetes@gmail.com. Visit www.dodgingdiabetes.org for more information.”
